and a special word about

Society Finches

 

 

Well for Gouldians, I produce such a limited number of these per year that free replacements are simply not available, I usually don't have addition birds for sale once I sell a few Goulds. Therefore I will only guarantee Gouldian finches if they are shipped through Continental Airlines. Goulds must be shipped in a separate box from all other birds!

There is also a special concern for Society Finches, of all of the birds I ship, some Societies can stress if they arrive late. No way to get around it, they simply don't have the tolerance that Zebras and all other birds have. These are the only ones that I occasionally experience some losses. Losses are rare but they do happened. However, if they arrive on time they are generally in great condition. I have shipped them as far away as Boise Idaho on 2 day delivery and all went well. Its just that of all the birds I ship, you need to be aware of the risk. Secondly some varieties (especially. Dark eyed Whites and a few others) are even prone to stressing after they arrive. Its all a matter of keeping them warm, illuminated and seeing that they adjust to their new home. With that in mind, the buyer must assume some responsibility for birds that arrive late. I should be held fully accountable for birds that stress due to late arrivals.

I pack them very well with food and water and lots of room in a spacious box. Again, most have no problems. It seems the smaller orders fair better than large ones so for that reason I only ship a maximum of 12 Societies per box.
