Serama Bantams

Worlds Smallest Breed of Chicken

The Serama Bantam originated in S. E. Asia as a result of selective breeding of Japanese Bantams with other varieties of Bantam Chickens. This new variety was bred for extremely small size and now qualifies as the worlds smallest breed of domestic chickens. They are fully recognized as a distinct breed and now shown widely across the US and throughout the world.

There is no set color for this variety of Bantam, and Seramas can produce a wide variety of colorful individuals. They are categorized by their size and conformation to a standard. Seramas can be extremely tiny and also somewhat larger. So here again there is room for selection in trying to produce the smallest bird.

These are very tame and extremely easy to handle. Most will sit in your hand and simply remain there. Perfect for children who have an interest in raising chickens, this breed is the best!

Eggs are usually available, and cost $2 each, fertility is near 100% as I keep them in pairs so every egg is fertile! They are sold in groups of 10 eggs and shipping is done by priority mail for $8.60. Eggs are packed to insure complete safe arrival and none broken! I have an excellent method of shipping eggs to insure none arrive broken.
